Delete your account

You can delete your Sajha Haat account and the data tied to it at any time, in the app or from the web. This page explains how, what is deleted, what is kept and how long it takes.

Delete in the app

Sign in to the Sajha Haat app (iPhone, Android, or the web app at www.sajhahaat.app/app/), open the Account tab, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account. Confirm with Delete for good.

Deletion starts as soon as you confirm. You are signed out and the account cannot be restored.

Delete without the app

If you cannot use the app, send a request through the contact form at www.sajhahaat.app/en/contact and choose the subject "Account or deletion". Add the email address you sign in with, so we can find the account and reply. Before we delete anything we may email that address to confirm the request comes from you.

What is deleted

Every ad you posted, whatever its state: live, waiting for review, paused, sold, rented or rejected. Deleted ads leave the website and the apps at once, though a cached copy of a page can take a few minutes to clear and search engines update on their own schedule.

The photos in your ads: every stored size of each photo is erased from our photo storage. Copies cached by our content network expire within a day, after which a saved direct link to a photo no longer opens it.

Your profile: display name, phone number, your choice to show it or not, your language and your notification settings.

Saved searches you turned on email alerts for, which are kept with your account, and the record of which ads we emailed you about.

Your sign-in: the email address and password, or the Google sign-in, linked to the account. You are signed out on every device.

What is kept

Conversations. Conversations you took part in are not deleted: the other person keeps them, including the messages you sent.

Safety and moderation records: reports you made or that were made about your ads, blocks between you and other users, our review decisions on your ads, and messages you sent us through the contact form. These hold an internal account number, not your name or email, except that a contact form message keeps the name and email you gave. We keep them only as long as needed for safety, disputes and legal obligations, as the Privacy Policy describes.

Data on your device. Saved ads, saved searches and an unfinished ad draft are stored only on your phone or in your browser, not in your account (except a saved search you turned on email alerts for, which is deleted with the account as above). Deleting the app, or clearing the browser’s site data, removes them.

How long it takes

In the app: straight away. Your ads, their photos, your profile and sign-in are removed while you wait, usually within seconds. Copies of photos cached by our content network expire within a day.

By request through the contact form: within 30 days of confirming that the request is yours.
